Weekend mornings this fall · carpentry helpsOne planting day once the trees are funded, then watering shifts through three summers. The easiest job on the list and the one that outlasts everyone.
One Saturday, then an hour a week in summerTrim touch-ups on the depot, a window sash, a loose board on the bench. Half a day with a crew of four keeps the 2023 repaint from becoming the 2033 repaint.
Spring and fall · paintingFace painting table, laser tag check-in, Regatta timing at the pool, magic show seating. Saturday of the third weekend in August.
Two-hour shifts, 10 am to 7 pmTrunk or Treat needs cars in the lot with trunks done up and candy to hand out, 3 to 5 pm in late October. Or sponsor a trunk if you can't come.
One afternoon · bring your own candyThe Saturday before Easter, 8 to 10:45 am. Two thousand eggs across the lawn and up killer hill, then step back and watch it vanish in four minutes.
One morning · kids welcome to help hideThe fire department serves hot dogs to the whole town on the first Tuesday of August. Grill, hand out wristbands, run the coloring table.
4 to 7:30 pm · one eveningThe Parks and Trails Committee is turning the master plan into grant applications with the University of Minnesota Design Center. Meets monthly. Wants residents of every age and neighborhood.
